Woman threatens officers with knife in Saarbrücken
A 34-year-old woman threatened police officers with a knife in Saarbrücken on the afternoon of 28 October 2026 as they tried to execute an arrest warrant against her at an apartment building. She then barricaded herself in her apartment and said she wanted the police to shoot her. Police cordoned off the surrounding area and brought in specialist units; fire and ambulance crews also attended. Officers eventually took her into custody unharmed. Because of a possible risk to herself and others, she was taken for examination and an assessment of whether she should be admitted to a specialist clinic. The road closures disrupted evening traffic in the city centre and were lifted in stages after the operation. No one was injured.
