Man detained after stabbing attack near Rülzheim fair
During the night into Sunday, an 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man became involved in an argument at the Rülzheim fair. After bystanders initially calmed the dispute, the two encountered each other again near the fairground on Im Hubenweg. The 18-year-old is alleged to have stabbed the 19-year-old repeatedly with a weapon that has not yet been identified and to have kicked him in the head after he fell. The 19-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries; police said there was no danger to his life at that time. The suspect turned himself in to police on Sunday evening and was provisionally detained. He was due to appear before a remand judge on Monday.
