Man attacks police officers with knife in Rosengarten
A 35-year-old father attacked police officers with a knife on Tuesday morning during the enforcement of a court order at a residence in Rosengarten. Officers were assisting a bailiff who was to place two children from the family into the care of the youth welfare office.
After the attack, the man retreated into the residence and initially refused to hand over the children. His 39-year-old partner also resisted and was taken into custody. Special forces overpowered the man inside the residence at about 1 p.m. and provisionally detained him; he sustained minor injuries during the operation. The children were unharmed and handed over to the youth welfare office. Both parents are under investigation, and the question of pre-trial detention is being examined.
