Man remanded in custody after armed extortion in Riedenburg
A masked man is suspected of entering a petrol station on Kelheimer Straße in Riedenburg on Friday and demanding cash from the 56-year-old cashier while displaying a knife. After she handed over money from the till, he fled on foot and also took tobacco and cigarette papers when leaving. A customer who was present briefly followed him but stopped after the man allegedly threatened him with the knife. Following a search and further investigation, police said suspicion intensified against a 52-year-old man. A warrant was issued and he was taken to a Bavarian correctional facility.
