Man remanded after knife attack in Rieden

A 38-year-old man has been remanded in custody following a dispute at an asylum-seeker residential facility in Rieden am Forggensee. On the evening of 25 February, he allegedly first attacked a 37-year-old fellow resident with a key and then with a kitchen knife. The verbal dispute had escalated in the shared kitchen. The victim kept the alleged attacker at a distance with a chair, preventing stab wounds. Two other residents disarmed the man during a struggle. Both the suspect and the victim sustained minor injuries. An investigating judge issued a remand order over allegations of attempted homicide and bodily harm.
