Man arrested after attack with stabbing weapon in Rheinbach
A 36-year-old man is suspected of attacking a 66-year-old acquaintance with a stabbing weapon in Rheinbach at about 03:20 on 8 September, leaving him critically injured. According to police, the incident followed a domestic violence case the previous evening, when the man allegedly insulted and threatened a 20-year-old woman in an apartment before being made to leave. A few hours later, he is alleged to have forced his way into the apartment of the woman's mother and attacked the 66-year-old during an argument. Officers arrested the suspect at the apartment. The injured man was taken to hospital and is receiving intensive care. Police and prosecutors are investigating on suspicion of attempted homicide.
