Woman dies after knife attack in Reutlingen apartment
A 58-year-old man is suspected of inflicting knife injuries on his mother in her Reutlingen apartment on the evening of 20 August. She died at the scene despite emergency medical treatment. Police said he retreated to the building's balcony after the incident and refused officers entry to the apartment. Officers forced their way inside, provided first aid to the woman and subdued the man after he resisted. Five officers suffered minor injuries, and one was unable to continue duty. Authorities are investigating the suspected homicide; the man was provisionally arrested, brought before a judge and placed in a psychiatric clinic.
