Man injured with knife during attempted extortion in Regensburg
During an attempted extortion at Regensburg's Innerer Osten city park on 18 April, a 30-year-old man is alleged to have injured a 25-year-old man in the back with a knife. Police said the suspect first demanded beer and then cash while displaying the knife. When the victim refused, the suspect allegedly stabbed him. The superficial cut injury was treated on an outpatient basis at a hospital. The suspect was brought before an investigating judge the following day, who issued a detention order, and he was taken to a correctional facility. Criminal police continue to investigate and are seeking witnesses.
