Two men remanded after robbery in Rauenberg

Two masked men are suspected of robbing a 57-year-old man at his apartment in Rauenberg on 4 July. Police and prosecutors said they threatened him with a firearm and a knife to obtain cash, his bank card and its PIN. When he initially refused to comply, the suspects allegedly punched and kicked him, leaving him seriously injured.

The man eventually handed over the demanded items. The men fled and are alleged to have used the card later to withdraw 2,600 euros from an ATM in Karlsruhe. A 46-year-old man and a 34-year-old man are under strong suspicion; both were arrested at the end of July and remanded in custody after warrants were issued. The investigation is ongoing.
