Customer killed after knife attack in Ratzeburg supermarket
On 9 September at about 15:35, a 44-year-old man is alleged to have suddenly attacked a customer standing between the shelves of a supermarket on Bahnhofsallee in Ratzeburg with a knife. The 48-year-old woman sustained multiple stab and cut injuries and died at the scene. Three witnesses intervened, restrained the man and disarmed him. Police said the suspect seriously injured himself with the knife while resisting and was taken to hospital. Prosecutors and the homicide unit are investigating on suspicion of manslaughter; according to the current findings, the woman and the suspect did not know each other.
