Knife displayed during robbery at Potsdam shop

On the evening of Friday, 21 February 2025, a masked perpetrator allegedly robbed a grocery shop on Lindenstraße in Potsdam’s historic city centre. According to police, he displayed a knife and demanded cash from the employee present. As no cash was reportedly available, the perpetrator took only a low-value item.

When the employee followed him and tried to prevent him from re-entering the shop, the perpetrator allegedly used pepper spray and fled on foot. The 27-year-old employee sustained minor injuries and was treated by emergency services. An initial search was unsuccessful. Two days later, a minor attended a police station with a legal guardian and said he had committed the offence after being coerced by an acquaintance; criminal police are examining the statement.
