Man threatens police officers with knife in Plauen

A 47-year-old man is alleged to have blocked traffic on Zaderastrasse in Plauen on Monday afternoon and verbally confronted other road users. When police officers arrived, he suddenly pulled a knife and aggressively threatened them, police said. Officers used pepper spray and brought him to the ground; he resisted and sustained minor injuries. He was taken to a medical facility because of a psychological emergency. Several investigations are under way, including for driving without a licence and driving while intoxicated.
