Man remanded after alleged utility-knife attack in Pforzheim
A 48-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after an altercation on a path in Pforzheim's Hohenwart district. Investigators said he had been walking his dogs on Thursday evening when he encountered a 30-year-old man, and an argument initially escalated into a physical confrontation. The 30-year-old allegedly used a utility knife and injured the man in the upper body. Passers-by alerted police, who provisionally detained the suspect at the scene. The victim received emergency medical treatment and was flown to hospital; police said he is no longer in life-threatening danger. At the prosecutor's request, a remand order for attempted manslaughter was issued and executed. The investigation is ongoing.
