Man with knife arrested after hours-long operation in Petershagen
A 30-year-old man was arrested after a police operation lasting several hours at an agricultural property containing multiple residential units in Petershagen. Police were called shortly after 9 p.m. following an argument between the man and his partner, after relatives had also been unable to calm him. When officers entered the apartment, he was holding a knife, and officers could not initially detain him safely. The remaining 15 residents of the apartment building were evacuated. At about 2:15 a.m., a special police unit entered the barricaded apartment and overpowered the man as he resisted. Following a medical examination, he was admitted to hospital on the order of the local public-order authority.
