Man arrested after knife threats in Paderborn

After a break-in at a garden shed in Paderborn, a 26-year-old man is alleged to have threatened a witness with a knife on Thursday morning when the witness surprised him there. The witness fled and alerted police. When officers later located the suspect at a railway underpass, he allegedly threatened them with the knife as well before fleeing along the tracks. The rail line was closed and a police helicopter supported the search. When the man allegedly drew the knife again and threatened officers, police used a Taser to bring him to the ground. He sustained minor injuries in the fall, was treated at a hospital and was then provisionally arrested.
