Passenger threatens train staff with can opener

A 31-year-old passenger without a valid ticket allegedly argued with a train attendant on a regional service travelling from Magdeburg towards Osterweddingen on Saturday. A fellow passenger intervened after the man refused to leave the train at Osterweddingen. According to federal police, he took cutlery from his pocket and threatened both people with a can opener, which made them believe he might be carrying a folding knife. Federal police found the suspect near Osterweddingen after he got off the train. Investigations were opened, including on suspicion of attempted dangerous bodily harm and threats.
