Patient threatens paramedics with knife in Ostercappeln

At a residential care facility in Ostercappeln, a 57-year-old patient threatened paramedics with a knife during an emergency-service operation on the evening of 4 March. The paramedics then left the building.

Police officers surrounded the entrance and disarmed the man while threatening to use their service weapon. He was arrested after pepper spray was used. The man suffered minor injuries from the irritant and was treated at the scene; no paramedics or police officers were injured. According to police, he also repeatedly made verbal threats towards officers during the operation before being taken to a clinic.
