One dead and two seriously injured after attack at care home in Olfen
A woman died in an attack at a care home in Olfen on the evening of 16 October 2026. Two other women were seriously injured, one of them with life-threatening injuries, according to police. Police described the attacker as a man and said he no longer posed a danger. They could not initially say whether he had been arrested. A Bild report cited in the account said a resident had stabbed the victims with a knife; police had not confirmed that detail about the weapon. Rescue helicopters landed outside the facility, and a large number of police officers responded.
