Two men remanded in custody after suspected kiosk robbery in Obertshausen

Two defendants aged 19 and 20 are alleged to have robbed a kiosk on Bahnhofstraße in Obertshausen on the evening of 29 January. According to police and prosecutors, the masked men entered the shop at about 9:30 p.m., threatened an employee with knives and took cash from the register. As they left the kiosk, one of them is alleged to have sprayed the employee with pepper spray.

The pair fled towards the suburban railway station but were arrested shortly afterwards by police patrols. A later search recovered, among other items, two knives and possible clothing connected to the offence. An investigating judge ordered pre-trial detention, and the investigation is continuing.
