Employee threatened with knife in Hennef
A 36-year-old suspected shoplifter allegedly threatened an employee of a grocery store in Hennef with a knife. The employee had approached him at the exit after suspecting that goods had been concealed. An employee alerted police at about 09:45 on 16 January. The man was provisionally detained later at a nearby garage yard, where officers found a kitchen knife as well as food and alcohol. The threatened employee was not injured. According to police, the suspect was due to appear before a custody judge, with the outcome still pending.
