Man remanded in custody after attempted bank robbery with kitchen knife in Münster

A 32-year-old man is alleged to have attempted to rob a bank branch on Königsstraße in Münster at about 11:09 a.m. on 9 December. Police said he entered the branch holding a long kitchen knife, demanded money from a female employee and showed her the knife. The employee sought help from colleagues, while other witnesses alerted police. As he received no cash, the man fled on foot but was arrested near the scene. No one was injured in the attempted robbery. A judge issued a remand order the following day at the request of prosecutors.
