Man threatens passengers with knife on Munich underground train

On a U2 train heading towards Messestadt Ost, a 47-year-old man allegedly shouted at other passengers and gestured towards them with a knife during the night of 9 August. He also stabbed a train window. A passenger alerted the driver, who contacted police. Officers arrested the man without resistance at Karl-Preis-Platz underground station and seized the knife. Nobody was injured, but a train window was damaged. Following police measures, the man was placed in a psychiatric facility because of apparent mental-health concerns.
