Man injured with an axe in Münchberg neighbour dispute
A 26-year-old man suffered a deep cut to his forearm when his 72-year-old neighbour struck him with an axe in Münchberg. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Thursday, 8 October 2026, at an apartment building where the two had been in a dispute for some time. They gave different accounts of what immediately preceded the blow: the injured man described an unprovoked attack after he opened his apartment door. The 72-year-old said the younger man had rung his bell and shone a flashlight at him, making him feel threatened. The injured man received hospital treatment. Police are investigating the 72-year-old on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm and threatening his neighbour.
