Man seriously injured with knife in Mönchengladbach

On 4 September, a man is alleged to have seriously injured an acquaintance with a knife on Botzlöher Weg in Mönchengladbach. A passer-by gave first aid to the injured man. The suspect returned to the scene, called the emergency number himself and was then provisionally detained. The victim's wound required stitches, and he remained in hospital for observation. Police said his life was never in danger. Following indications of a mental illness, the suspect was admitted to psychiatric care. Criminal police are investigating on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm.
