Store detective threatened with screwdriver in Mönchengladbach

After a man allegedly tried to leave a supermarket on Marktstraße in Mönchengladbach-Rheydt without paying for goods on 22 January, a store detective confronted him. According to police, the man verbally threatened the detective and produced a pointed object. Officers later seized a screwdriver during a search. The suspect was taken into custody and released the following morning after police measures were completed. He is being investigated, including on suspicion of making threats.
