Ambulance worker threatened with scissors in Mechernich
Two ambulance workers sustained minor injuries during a call-out on 28 September 2026. The crew had been called to a 45-year-old man in Mechernich-Kallmuth. During what had initially been a voluntary journey to hospital, he took scissors from a drawer and threatened one worker, who managed to take them away. He later threatened and insulted an ambulance worker and struck him; a crew member then tried to restrain the man until they reached hospital. The man was subsequently admitted involuntarily. Criminal proceedings were opened over the assault. The reports do not say whether the scissors caused either injury.
