Man approaches police officers in Marlow with kitchen knife
During a police operation in Marlow, an 88-year-old man approached officers carrying a kitchen knife with a blade of about 20 centimetres, police said. Officers used pepper spray, stopped him and handed him over to an ambulance crew. Earlier, according to police, his 49-year-old son had resisted being returned to hospital, barricaded himself inside the house and attacked officers with a hammer. He was later located and taken back to hospital. The officers were not injured; some experienced short-term skin and respiratory irritation from the pepper spray but remained fit for duty.
