Man threatens opponent with knife in Mannheim

During a dispute between two men on Mittelstraße in Mannheim on Saturday at about 8 p.m., a 26-year-old man is alleged to have drawn a knife. Police said he ran towards his 31-year-old opponent and threatened him with it while officers were interviewing witnesses at the scene. An officer threatened to use his service weapon and, when the man did not put down the knife, police used pepper spray. The 26-year-old dropped the knife, was arrested and later released after identification procedures. Investigations into the dispute are continuing.
