Suspect remanded after attack on woman in Mannheim
A 59-year-old man is suspected of attempting to kill a 40-year-old woman in Mannheim on 14 November. Police and prosecutors said he attacked her on a sidewalk on Relaisstraße, threatened to kill her, pulled her to the ground and assaulted her physically. The woman sustained serious stab and cut injuries to her chin as well as bruising. Witnesses came to her aid, and the suspect was provisionally arrested at the scene. A court ordered his pre-trial detention while the investigation continued.
