Man seriously injured in knife attack in Mainz
A 40-year-old man was seriously but not life-threateningly injured in the leg following an altercation on Scheffelstraße in Mainz. After an earlier argument, an unidentified man allegedly pulled a knife shortly before 6 p.m. and used it against the other man. The suspect fled immediately afterwards. A first aider and emergency personnel treated the injured man until paramedics arrived, after which he was taken to a hospital in Mainz. Witnesses said the weapon was allegedly a large kitchen knife.
