Man threatens shop employee with stabbing in Mainz
A 38-year-old man is alleged to have stolen three jackets from a clothing shop in Mainz’s old town. When an employee stopped him as he tried to flee, the man allegedly became aggressive. According to police, witnesses saw a gold-coloured object, believed to be a knife, in his hand while he reportedly shouted that he would stab the employee. Officers stopped him during his escape. He was taken to a psychiatric hospital because of his behaviour, and police recorded a complaint for robbery-related theft and insult.
