18-year-old remanded after knife threat in Magdeburg

An 18-year-old man is alleged to have tried repeatedly to force open parked vehicles in Magdeburg's Olvenstedt district at about 5:30 a.m. on 27 May. Witnesses reported that he was carrying a knife. When a witness confronted him about his actions, the man is alleged to have acted threateningly toward that witness before leaving the area. Police officers later located him in the Bruno-Taut-Ring. A remand order was obtained against the suspect and he was taken to prison. The investigation is ongoing.
