Man threatens two people with utility knife in Ludwigshafen
A 55-year-old man is alleged to have stolen food worth about 60 euros from a supermarket on Kopernikusstraße in Ludwigshafen on 1 December. After an employee spoke to him after he passed the checkout area, he pulled out a utility knife and threatened her. A 45-year-old customer who tried to intervene was also threatened with the knife. The suspect attempted to flee but, following a pursuit, was restrained on a bus by the customer and another passer-by. The customer suffered a minor hand injury during the restraint. The man was arrested and remanded in pre-trial detention.
