Pre-trial detention after alleged robbery involving a pointed instrument in Leipzig
A 28-year-old man is alleged to have taken a small amount of cash from a snack bar on Riesaer Straße in Leipzig on 29 January while displaying a pointed instrument. He is then alleged to have punched a person who was present in the snack bar in the face.
Police provisionally detained the suspect during the night of 5 February. Following an application by prosecutors, Leipzig Local Court issued a warrant on 6 February on urgent suspicion of, among other offences, aggravated robbery; the man remains in pre-trial detention. Investigations are ongoing.
