Man threatens cashier with knife at Leipzig supermarket

A 30-year-old man allegedly threatened a 62-year-old cashier with a knife at a supermarket in Leipzig's Lausen-Grünau district on 25 January. At the checkout, he held the knife, described by police as resembling a kitchen knife, in the employee's direction. He made no demand. Police officers found the suspect in the checkout area after he had discarded the knife and took him into custody. Nobody was injured. The knife was seized, and police are investigating him on suspicion of making threats.
