Bar owner threatened with knife and robbed in Leer
A 30-year-old man allegedly threatened a 71-year-old bar owner with a knife in Leer at about 2:10 a.m. on 9 February. The woman had accompanied him outside because he could not pay his bill. Police said he then produced a knife and demanded cash and alcohol. He fled with a low three-figure sum of cash but was found nearby by officers and provisionally detained. The woman was not injured.
