Staff member threatened with knife in Lauterecken
A 51-year-old man threatened several staff members at a medical building in Lauterecken on Friday morning. According to police, he initially demanded medication at a practice and threatened to set the building on fire after it was not handed over to him. He later caused a disturbance in front of a locked glass door on another floor and threatened a staff member there with a knife. Officers overpowered and restrained him. A search found two knives, pepper spray and a lighter; the man was admitted to a psychiatric facility and criminal proceedings were initiated.
