Doctor and paramedic attacked with knife in Laucha
During an emergency medical call at a house in the Laucha an der Unstrut district on 14 January 2025, a 24-year-old man is alleged to have attacked a doctor and a paramedic with a knife. The doctor suffered a serious head injury and was taken to hospital; it was assessed as non-life-threatening. The paramedic sustained a minor forearm injury and also required treatment. The suspect then barricaded himself in a room, where police overpowered him at about 2.30 pm and arranged treatment for him. Criminal police are investigating.
