Supermarket employee seriously injured in Cologne pursuit

A 42-year-old man was arrested in Cologne-Lindenthal after allegedly seriously injuring a supermarket employee during a suspected robbery-related theft. The suspect is alleged to have put goods into a backpack and passed the checkout without paying. When an employee approached him, he allegedly displayed a knife and fled. Several staff members followed him to a playground at the junction of Heinestraße and An der Kleistraße, where he allegedly stabbed a 26-year-old man in the abdomen with the knife. The seriously injured employee received emergency treatment and was taken to hospital.
