Man injured with pointed object at Cologne restaurant

A 31-year-old man was seriously injured on Sunday morning at a restaurant on Weyerstraße in central Cologne. Police said that he had first become involved in a dispute with other guests at about 6:10 a.m. An unknown visitor who had not previously been involved is alleged to have stabbed him in the back with a pointed object. The man suffered a life-threatening lung injury and was taken to hospital. The suspect fled, while criminal investigators have witness statements and video footage from the restaurant.
