A 30-year-old man allegedly threatened a 51-year-old kiosk operator with a knife at Eigelstein in Cologne on Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses said the man entered the kiosk and suddenly drew a knife before fleeing when the operator reached for a stick in self-defence. Officers located him shortly afterwards near Ebertplatz and placed him in temporary custody. He allegedly kicked and punched officers there and was due to appear before a judge.
