Care worker threatened and injured with knife in Kelheim

An unidentified man allegedly entered a detached house in Kelheimwinzer shortly after 5 p.m. on 29 August. Police said he threatened a 48-year-old care worker with a knife in the hallway. During a struggle, he forced the woman to the floor, attempted to gag her and allegedly attacked her with the knife. She escaped to neighbours and sustained slight injuries. The man fled, and an initial search involving several patrols, a police helicopter and officers from Upper Palatinate did not find him. Criminal police were investigating, including on suspicion of attempted burglary with weapons.
