Man arrested after scissors attack and knife threats in Kassel

A 44-year-old man is alleged to have attacked another 44-year-old man in the head with scissors after an argument at the Am Stern stop in central Kassel on Tuesday morning. According to initial findings, the victim sustained rather superficial injuries. The suspect initially fled.

About an hour later, the same man is alleged to have threatened two employees with a knife at a supermarket on Westring after stealing cans of beer. Police officers arrested him shortly afterwards; police said footage from a video surveillance system helped link him to the scissors attack. A kitchen knife and scissors were found on him. He is being investigated, among other allegations, for dangerous bodily harm, theft and making threats.
