Man threatens 18-year-old with knife in Kassel

A 36-year-old man allegedly became involved in an argument with an 18-year-old outside a snack bar in Kassel's Wesertor district on 9 January. Police said he punched the younger man in the face, pulled a knife and threatened him with it. The 18-year-old fled to a shop on Weserstraße, where the man allegedly followed him with the knife while shouting threats. Police arrested the man after a short pursuit. During resistance to a blood sample, he injured two officers by punching and kicking them; one officer suffered minor injuries and another sustained a tendon tear that required outpatient treatment. He is under investigation for offences including assault, threats and resisting law enforcement.
