Man injured in knife robbery in Karlsruhe

A 34-year-old passer-by was robbed and injured by two unidentified men in Karlsruhe on 19 March. Police said he was initially insulted and attacked on the Tiergartenbrücke bridge over the Stadtgarten. When he resisted, one of the men allegedly pulled a knife and made cutting movements.

During the struggle, the man suffered a superficial cut to the back of his hand and abrasions after falling. The attackers also tried to take his mobile phone but failed. They did, however, tear away a gold chain before fleeing towards Ettlinger Straße. Criminal police are seeking witnesses.
