Man remanded in custody after knife attack at Karlsruhe stop

A 57-year-old man suffered life-threatening stab injuries at the Bärenweg stop in Karlsruhe on 12 August 2025. A 27-year-old man allegedly inflicted the injuries with a knife at around 10 a.m. The two men had reportedly argued near a supermarket on Georg-Büchner-Straße beforehand. The suspect was provisionally detained shortly after the attack, and a judge issued a detention warrant the following day; he is now in pre-trial custody. Criminal police investigations are ongoing.
