Man threatens several people with knife in Kaiserslautern

At Willy-Brandt-Platz in Kaiserslautern, a 53-year-old man is alleged to have threatened a child, the child's companions and a passer-by with a knife on 8 January following a dispute. Police had initially been called because of an altercation between the man and the child.

After one of those involved alerted police, the man fled by bicycle. Officers later located him at his home. As he was under the influence of alcohol, he was taken to a police station and required to provide a blood sample. He is under investigation on suspicion of making threats and drink-driving.
