A 51-year-old man is alleged to have attacked a 57-year-old man with a knife on Langer Weg in Hünxe at around 2:40 pm on 14 June. The victim was seriously injured and taken to hospital, but was not considered to be in life-threatening condition at the time. A woman provided first aid until emergency services arrived. The suspect is alleged to have fled by car but was provisionally detained later that day. An investigating judge ordered his remand in custody following an application by prosecutors.
