Man remanded in custody after knife attack in Hirschberg

Following an argument in a shared flat in Hirschberg an der Bergstraße, a 63-year-old man is alleged to have repeatedly injured his 51-year-old flatmate in the upper body with a kitchen knife on 4 November. The man sustained two stab or cut wounds near the ribs and was taken to hospital; police said his life was never in danger. Further attacks were allegedly stopped by the injured man's resistance and the intervention of the suspect's wife. Police provisionally arrested the 63-year-old at the scene. The Mannheim Local Court issued a remand warrant the following day, at the prosecution's request, on suspicion of attempted manslaughter combined with dangerous bodily harm, and the man was taken to prison.
