Man remanded after knife threat during shoplifting incident
Following an alleged shoplifting incident at a supermarket in Hildesheim, a 31-year-old man is accused of threatening store employees with a knife. He is alleged to have concealed goods, passed the checkout without paying, and gone to the car park. When employees spoke to him there, he allegedly drew a knife, held it in their direction, and fled. Police located him shortly afterwards, and a judge ordered pre-trial detention at the prosecution’s request because of a risk of flight.
